Software Description
MultitrackStudio is audio/MIDI multitrack recording software for Windows.
It combines a multitrack recorder, a mixer, lots of effects and a MIDI sequencer in one package: everything that's needed to turn your computer into a digital multitrack sound recording studio.
New in v5.1
- New: VST effects having more than 2 inputs now get a Side Chain box just like the Dynamics/Compressor/NoiseGate effects. The second input pair receives the sidechain signal.
- New: The outputs of multiple output VSTi plugins (the ones having an Output Mixer), can now be sidechain sources. You can use this to route the outputs of a drum plugin to multiple mixer tracks. (Pro Plus edition only)
- New: VST instruments having audio inputs also get a Side Chain box. You can now, for example, use vocal pitch correction plugins in an Instrument Slot and use the track's pianoroll to enter the correct notes. (Pro Plus edition only)
- New: Some VST plugins come with a proprietary "sidechain input" plugin. The latter can now be loaded in the effect's "Sidechain Input" box to ensure correct behaviour on multiple-CPU machines. (Pro Plus edition only)
- New: Effects loaded in an effect's Side Chain box can now use side chains as well. (Pro Plus edition only)
- New: Effects in a multiple output VSTi's output mixer can now use side chains (Pro Plus edition only).
- New: The Effect/Instrument Selectors hide VST plugins which can't be used as effect/instrument respectively. They learn automatically.
- New: DX plugins which aren't an instrument now appear in the Effect Selector only, and not in the Instrument Selector.
- New: "DMO" (DirectX Media Objects) effects are no longer supported because they cause too much trouble (version 5.0 dropped support on Vista already).
- New: New cycle transport option: "Cycle selected part of focused track"
- New: Drum editor: Select All button is now enabled even while individual notes are selected.
- New: Search boxes now have 'clear' button.
- New: VistaSound driverset (for WASAPI drivers) now supports multichannel recording, and compatibility has been improved significantly.
- New: AsioSnd driverset can optionally use MMCSS (on Vista).
- Fixed: Voxengo Elephant VST plugin crashed.
- Fixed: Transport failed to start under certain (rare) sidechaining conditions on multiple-CPU machines (Pro Plus edition only).
- Fixed: Some older VST plugins which don't provide a GUI of themselves failed to update the knobs on loading a preset.
- Fixed: Song Templates: tracks could end up in wrong folder (Pro Plus edition only).
- Fixed: Level meters on effect windows could stop working while using Soft Monitoring when soundcard buffer size is low.
- Fixed: A track's "Alternate Take in new track" option now disengages the track's Play button.
- Fixed: A couple of other fixes.

Great Program!
I discovered this great program from a friend who does professional recordings. This is the real deal here! You pay a whole 70$ and get the absolute best multi-track recorder for your money. I record alot of things for bands and i use this sometimes because it is so easy. If you purchase this program, get a Sony ECM-MS907 mic (80$), and use your standard line in, you got a great home studio.

I HAVE A POINT OF SALE PROGRAM THAT USES AFILE AS A PAGE HEADER THAT IS A .HDR FILE EXTENSION FILE AND SINCE IT IS MY ADDRESS AND MY ADDRESS HAS CHANGED I WILL NEED TO APPROPRIATELY MODIFY IT TO REUSE IT ... ANY HELP ???

burning originals????
i recorded some one take tracks and now i cant burn them, .HTR??? i dont know what format i have to change the files to or if i have to 'Mix' them down... help!

master recording ?
I don't understand how to get a wav file form the master. If you record 2 tracks of wav files and then record the master. the file that is rendered from this can only be saved as a hdr format. how do you get your mixed file tracks into one wav file?

Follow these steps to record a master file:
- Add a new track, and load a new file (for instance: mix.wav).
- Activate the Record Master option in the Mixing menu. Now a recording audio track will record the output of the Master section (or simply the output if the Master section is disabled) instead of your soundcard's inputs.
- Put the new track in record mode. Make sure all tracks that should be on the master are in playback mode.
- Start the Player, stop it when the Song has reached the end.
Easy to Use!
This is one of the few that I, as a novice, could make work right "out of the box". Most of the others I looked at are so complicated that you really have to know what you are doing if you want to get them to function. Multitrack Studio, on the other hand, is intuitively easy to use, the Support is very friendly and available, and the price is modest. On top of that, it has all the bells and whistles necessary for multitrack recording and signal processing. You will look long and hard to find another package this good! Highly recommend!
