Software Description

BitterSweet is a dynamic processor that manages audio transients.

Bitter Sweet is especially active on loud percussive tracks. Turning the central button on the sweet side, decreases the transients amplitude. On the bitter side, the transients amplitude is magnified. Bitter-Sweet also features a control for the signal to be processed. When the main position is engaged, the process affects the stereo signal. If Center is engaged, only the M signal of the internal MS matrix is processed. If stereo is selected, only the S signal from the MS matrix is processed. As all Flux:: plug-ins it features 64 bit floating point processing, up to 8 channels and up to 8 FS (384 KHz). Center and Stereo Mode are only available in stereo (2 channels) processing.

BitterSweet won't load

Wouldn't you know, won't open in either Multitrack Studio Pro+ or in VST host by Hermann Seib, so my previous comments may have been for naught.

'No va,' man, I mean; 'Won't Load, Won't run. ' (watt the flux?

Couldn't get this without the whole Flux Demo pack. The whole suite, (minus BitterSweet) retails for well over $1K US dollars. Unlike the other 'umpteen hundred' VST plugins that do run with my M-Audio Revolution 7.1 ASIO my AMD 3000+ powered PC, (2.2gig processor) it doesn't really open, not into Seib's VST Host, nor into my MTS Pro+ vers. IV. Been through two Windows install packages without success so far. But I suppose I'll keep trying because I love the concept/.
It does flutter and wink at you the first couple of times I've tried to install and open it. Cute. Time to go get the uninstall files and try those again?

FX Plug-in of the year 2007?

If BitterSweet does all that it says it does, it could easily fix some of those old drum-heavy or drum-light tracks that you (or I or a bunch of home recordists) got the drums too hot or too weak in that lie around in the basement because you threw out the multi track master somehow, but are too hard to start over with.

You (or somebody who looks quite like you) could not only fix bad mixes, it seems as if this would sweeten passable, o.k. mixes as well.

This plug is wonderful concept, if I do say so myself because it's something I wished for and actually wrote here about. (Hey guys, any credit for the concept? Oh, yeah, I gave it away on condition that if somebody knew how to build this that they would put it in freeware so I could afford one!)

As I said then, it shouldn't intrude on the whole mix like a compressor, limiter, or an equalizer. I'm going to try this one for sure, and probably try some creative band-limiting prior to BitterSweet to help keep the cymbal sounds 'un-effected.'

This (contingent on not being a hoax or non-working) seems like it should be nominated for free plug-in of 2007.
