I will not argue about your understanding of the word "professional" but I don't think Harmony Assistant is "full of bugs".
I have used it for several years, and I found it really stable. Moreover, I haven't heard of any programming team who are able to address any user's problem so promptly and listen to the user's needs so as to implement whatever function he needs.
Now, what I'd like to get is the "documentation" you have, to prove your assertion. You are welcome to send me any evidence :
First, because I doubt very much you can gather such documentation.
Secondly, because -imagining your are right- the best way to improve things improve is to bring them to the users' (or programmers') attention.

You are not serious. I'm using HA without problem, and the community with the brother Guillon are always able to help us on their forum

: Harmony Assistant has a great many people sharing, composing their own music, like a comunity. The software can be set to do many things. Like enter notes real time from the computer text keyboard, or from a midi keyboard.

Harmony Assistant is a Myriad product. Has a website. Has a webboard, and support from it is usually less than a few hours. I have found Harmony Assistant to be the most bug free software I ever owned. Very happy with it. It does more than you can imagine. Same with Melody Assistant. But Harmony has really taken off! now you can write programs with it for features you can think of > make sure you order for PC if you have PC and Mac if you have Macintosh. I think you have already solved your problem.

I once had a program titled "Music Transcription System II by Questar Products Ltd" which allowed me to play by ear any song on the computer keyboard. It showed the staff and notes as I played them. I could also changed the note and the timing as well as being able to print it out. This program will no longer work on my updated computer and I certainly would like another program with the same capabilities.
When I hear a song I want to remember so that I can play it by ear, I used to play it on my computer keyboard and then print it out. I play for different organizations and would like to know if there is a similar program available.

I have 7.4.2. (Just got it.) After reading your comment, I tried importing midi files. I had no Problem. Not only did the program print out the notes (for 5 staves), but the sound was --- well, Great!

I had been having trouble with wave and midi files so I went to the installer program (in my system, its Aptiva Installer) and re-installed the wave and midi drivers (in my system log there was duplication of drivers and I deleted one.) Now I have no problems at all. The Harmony program is an tinker's dream -- complicated (for me) but it offers a lifetime of new experiences and discoveries.

I suspect (in years I am ancient but in computer experience I am an infant -- particularly with midi stuff -- so take what I say with caution, courage, and system disk at hand)that you are having sound board problems that require re-loading or refreshing.
