Does anyone know what categories of tangible interfaces exist for using the PC as a musical interface? So far I found:
-MIDI instruments based on classical instruments (guitar, sax, harp, etc)
-MIDI instruments based on modern instruments (electric guitar, synthesizer, drums and turntables)
-MIDI interfaces based on mixing panels
-MIDI interfaces based on non-music-related objects (puzzles, lego-like clocks, balls and such, mainly for expositions and installations)
there must be more... ??
And is MIDI the only suitable communications protocol ?? |
