| i ve already got this software sonar home studio 4 xl ! im facing a problem in it ! whenever i record my vocals it also records all other tracks of music which are being played at that time ! even though i put headfones and turn my speakers off ! there must be some technical way to record vocals which i am not aware of ! please anybody cann tell me the details because it has been 2 months since i am using this software but till now i haven't recorded my vocals |

I suspect that you are using a soundcard that has a recording port that is labeled "What You Hear" or similar. You will need to set the recording port to the MIC IN port in order to record only from that port.
If you are running a PC, double-click the little speaker in the lower right corner and select properties>recording then select the recording port that you plan to use. |

| So you have been able to record other tracks? Like a keyboard, drum, guitar or some kind of instrument...just cannot record vocals? |

I have had the same problem. I went into volume control alternate click on little speaker then click options properties recording line in and mic should be the only ones selected if stereo is selected then deselect that is the problem. this works for me. hope you have fun recording. powloo. |

Most likely what is happening is Sonar is sending the output from the other channels into the track he/she is recording on but since no one ever really takes enough time to let us know if we have helped at all, or if the issue has been corrected and how they did it, you and I just have to keep shooting our thoughts out based on what we know.
